Pacificans Care 2020 annual Grants

Pacificans Care provides annual grants to Pacifica’s four core social service agencies: the
Pacifica Youth Service Bureau, Pacifica Resource Center, Pacifica Senior Services, and Pacifica
Child Care Services. This year, thanks to Pacifica’s generous donors, Pacificans Care contributed
$69,500 for services that significantly improve the lives of Pacifica’s children, youth, families,
and seniors.

The Pacificans Care Emergency Fund responded to the needs of Pacifica’s families
impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic with emergency grants totaling $35,000 thanks to the
generous support of the Pacifica community and businesses like Oceana Market and Grocery
Outlet. These grants supported groceries for those in need, housing and rental assistance,
senior Meals on Wheels and Grab and Go lunches, refrigeration and cooking equipment, and
summer camp experiences for our youth.

Pacifica Child Care Services

Pacifica Child Care Services provides and extensive educational and recreational activities program including local community trips, distance learning activity packets and special events for the 260 children enrolled in summer Child Care programs. Summer activities are an important part of the summer program for children who spend nine hours per day for six weeks
at one location.

Pacifica Resource Center

The Pacifica Resource Center will continue to provide over 40,000 services to 1,200
unduplicated households, increasing the financial stability of 1 in 10 Pacifica Families, preventing and reducing homelessness in Pacifica, and continuing monthly grocery deliveries to at least 150 Pacifica families. When families and individuals have the resources needed to maintain their households, they are less likely to become homeless and less likely to develop stress-related health issues, resulting in a healthier, happier, and more stable Pacifica.

Pacifica Senior Services

These are very uncertain times for providing services for seniors since they are the most vulnerable population for the COVID-19. The Pacificans Care grant will assist Senior Services in maintaining, enhancing, and reimagining how to continue providing social, nutritional, and essential programs to Pacifica seniors safely. Senior Services is currently providing Meal on Wheels services to homebound seniors and "Grab and Go" lunches for pick up during the week at the community center
