Sheila Hyman, one of the first Pacificans Care board members, passed away on August 5, 2015. Sheila was 84 and had been active in the community for many years as a PB&R Commissioner, Pacifica Spindrift Players founder, Pacificans Care board member, Rotarian, and Pacifica Historical Society member. She served on the Pacificans Care subcommittee that established the People Who Care award. Sheila helped found California's statewide park and recreation commissioners’ organization and served as the first woman president of the organization in the 1970’s.
